i RESISTANCE TO SOLVENT VAPOUR

Resistance to solvent vapour is verified by the condition of the test sample following exposure.

The standard requires the sample to be placed in a container of the specified solvent.

The test samples must be suspended vertically with the lower edge around 150 mm above the surface of the test solvent. During the exposure, the liquid must not evaporate completely and, if necessary, must be topped up.

The temperature of the test solvent must be 23 ± 2 °C and the duration of exposure must be 168h ± 1 (seven days).

After removal from the container, each test sample must be examined to determine whether there has been any change in appearance, loss of adherence of the sub layer, exfoliation, detachment, bulging or other signs of deterioration.

The solvents used by Cembre for this test are: Acetone, Ethanol, Hexane
